Overview:

When planning a technology-enhanced activity for students there are many resources at your disposal. The best place to begin would be to collaboratively plan with your media coordinator and/or technology facilitator. It is their role to be familiar with the curriculum at their school and to have on hand resources and sample lessons to teach those topics. There are also many online resources available to assist with technology integration.

Task:
1) Set a time to meet with your media coordinator and/or technology facilitator to plan a lesson for your students. This lesson can be one that is conducted in your classroom or in a computer lab. To be ready for the planning session it may be a good idea to give them the topic you wish to cover ahead of time. It will also help to read through the website Impact for Teachers if you have never collaboratively planned with the media coordinator and/or technology facilitator.
At the planning session, discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding use of equipment, assistance available, etc.

2) Schedule a time to complete the lesson with your students.

3) Summarize the lesson conducted with your students. Write a reflection of the experience that includes thoughts about the planning session and the use of the lesson with your students. Include what you thought went well and what could have been changed.

4) To receive CEU credit for your work, submit an electronic copy of your work to cphthisic@ecps.k12.nc.us
with the subject line your name task card 3A.
